Janani Balasubramanian is a South Asian artivist based in Brooklyn. Their writing deals broadly with issues of empire, desire, microflora, ancestry, apocalypse, trauma, and the Future. They’re an organizer at the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project, the only Alternative-To-Detention program specifically for queer, trans, and HIV+ immigrants in the US.
